All hail Woody?

vs

Before the match kickoff:Tottenham had a defence crisis.Michael Dawson(hamstring),Pascal Chimbonda(knee),Gilberto(calf),Benoit Assou-Ekotto(knee) and Gareth Bale(foot).
Chelsea however, got a full fit squad. The game at Athens against Olympiacos which ended goalless,John Terry and Frank Lampart were both not featured.Should Avram Grant reinstate them?He said:"When you have a big squad, you have problems like this sometimes. I think the players have shown, until now, great attitude from the beginning when it was a very difficult time and I will not forget it.I think now when you speak about John Terry and Lampard that they are available to play, I think you need to respect the players that played without them."

Starting lineup:
Tottenham:Paul Robinson,Jonathan Woodgate,Ledley King,Pascal Chimbonda,Alan Hutton,Jermaine Jenas,Steed Malbranque,Didier Zokora,Aaron Lennon,Robbie Keane,Dimitar Berbatov.

Chelsea:Peter Cech,Juliano Belletti,Wayne Bridge,John Terry,Ricardo Carvalho,Shaun Wright Phillips,Frank Lampard,Michael Essien,John Obi Mikel,Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba.

ps:That old fag dont dare to leave out Lampard and Terry.XD

Kickoff!
First half was dominated by Spurs, the moment that Belletti gave the ball to Robbie Keane.Robbie Keane couldnt believe his luck, but his shot was deflected to safety by John Terry. Then seconds later,Dimitar Berbatov headed the ball wide from 6 yards out.Peter Cech was called in action again on 27th minute,a diving save to keep Steed Malbranque's shot at bay.Seing Spurs failing to convert chances,Chelsea took their chances.Didier Zokora fouled Drogba, who curled his freekick with ease into the net with Paul Robinson flat footed.Spurs tried to hit back with a Keane's shot straight to Peter Cech.Chelsea in the second half, was comfortable until Spurs raised their game.69th minute,Wayne Bridge handled the ball in the penalty area ,pressure from Spurs substitute Tom Huddlestone(replacing Pascal Chimbonda).Refree got no choice to give the penalty. One of the calm'est penalties u can ever see,Dimitar Berbatov sent Peter Cech the wrong side.1-1,game on!A great pass from Keane to Zokora, putting him into a one on one situation with Peter Cech. The Chelsea keeper saved Zokora's first effort with his face and the Ivory Coast midfielder then blasted the rebound over the bar. From then onwards,Chelsea was on the backfoot most of the time.Normal time, the match ended a draw.Into 4 minutes of extra time,Anelka fouled Aaron Lennon and earned a freekick for Spurs.Jermaine Jenas whipped the ball into Chelsea's area and the ball bounced off Peter Cech's palms into Jonathan Woodgate's face. The ball bounced into the net.Salomon Kalou(replaced Shawun Wright Phillips) saw his effort saved superbly by Paul Robinson.Anxious remaining minutes for Spurs as they held on and won the match.Their 1st silverware in 9 years, credits to the players and Juande Ramos.

Comments:
Robbie Keane:'Hopefully this is start of something special, hopefully we can kick on now. It's special for the fans. This was a massive test for us and it's unbelievable and a dream come true to come out as winners. I dreamt of this moment as kid and I'm speechless.'

Jonathan Woodgate:'I don't really go up for corners but I took a chance and was able to get my head on it and luckily it went it.I think we were the best team and hopefully we can push on from this next year. Chelsea are a top side and they showed that today but we did it.'

Juande Ramos:'I am happy because the people (fans) are very happy.'

Ledley King:'Its amazing. It's been a long time to get here - too long. The only other time we got to a final we lost and we didn't want that to happen today,You saw the commitment levels from the players today and we showed we're a good team when we got going today. The spirit was fantastic and at 1-0 down a lot of teams would have folded but we were fantastic to come back and win.We have some good players here and hopefully we can use this win and move forward.'

Avram Grant:'I think even in the second half Tottenham were not in the game and that we were the better side,The penalty put them back in the game and that turned the match. The second goal was from a set piece so we are disappointed.I did not think it was a penalty. Wayne Bridge could not keep his hand behind his back when he was challenging for the ball and you saw it was not the referee who gave it but the linesman. It was always going to be close because cup finals are like this and it was not a great performance from both teams. We tried to score a goal and keep it tight but we lost. But we still have the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup so we must now focus on them.'
